VEGAN CHIA SEED PANCAKE- A Simple Breakfast Burst

Chia seeds are considered to be one of the best foods for people who are on a weight loss journey(1). Chia seeds are loaded with essential nutrients, like antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Two tablespoons of chia seeds have almost 10 grams of fiber (40% of RDA) hence they are filling & keep you full for longer, which prevents you from overeating.

Ingredients for making this recipe is pretty simple.


Ø 3 tbsp Chia seeds

Ø 1 cup wheat flour

Ø 1 cup Almond milk (or milk of your choice)

Ø 2 tbsp Honey/Maple syrup/Dates Syrup

Ø 1 tbsp coconut oil/Ghee

Ø 1 tsp apple-cider vinegar

Ø Salt to taste

Calories: 120 Kcal/pancake


1. Mix all the dry ingredients (flour, salt, chia seeds) in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk to help break up any clumps of flour and distribute the chia seeds and salt.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients (milk, honey, coconut oil, apple cider-vinegar).

3. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl with the dry ingredients and whisk or stir until all the flour is incorporated but the batter is still a bit lumpy. Avoid over mixing.

4. Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes while you heat a non-stick pan. If needed, add a light coating of oil.

5. Once the pan is hot, pour the batter and flip the pancakes, then cook until lightly golden on both sides.

6. Serve immediately. If desired, top with your favourite pancake toppings like fresh fruit & honey.
